CRITERIA FOR SPONSORSHIP BY GODOY MACHINES

Artists often ask 'what would it take to be sponsored by Godoy Machines?"

We sponsor the best artists globally!

Our criteria will always be:

- artists who work in shops - no home tattooers
- artists who are health compliant
- artists who use our machines exclusively
- artists who attend conventions regularly and win
- artists who promote themselves
- artists who are humble - no room for egos on our team
- we prefer realists as the skill level ( eye, brain hand coordination ) is highest. Especially small realism like Pete Belson can do.

At the moment, we are full. We don't sell enough machines in this ignorant saturated industry to be able to sponsor more artists - unless it's a special case - geographical location, convention schedules... we have2 ppl in UK, with a potential 3rd. So it may be a little while.

We do not just 'give' machines to good artists. These machines do NOT run like any other 'substandard' coil machine. So we expect any potential 'sponsoree' to buy the first one.. use it, understand it and we proceed from there.

We have certain ethical standards based on our views on this industry. It is not what it should be. Any artists who are on board with what this industry currently stands for, need not apply. Here is our interview on our blog - please take the time to read it thoroughly:

V2 MACHINE...

In the above photo, is our successful V2 machine. The slanted square coil assembly was designed and prototyped in 1999 and the patent was granted in our "square electromagnetic coil assembly" in 2003. The frame was designed to accommodate the V2 Coils assembly, to comfortably move the spring (gauge) armature bar assembly with the speed and force necessary to apply smooth shades, solid lines with any size grouping, fine and single needle lines as well as large magnums... truly a versatile all in one machine. The futuristic aesthetics are included!!! The early stages of the design were the most interesting. Cutting balsa, sanding, doing math to figure out how much each casted metal frame would weigh in relation to the mass of the balsa. On the first runs of this frame, we did a CNC frame machined out of billet aluminum - the cost was approximately $320 each. We also casted brass and aluminum. Brass was unreal, there was a run of maybe 20 brass. The aluminum became our choice for the V2, weighing in at just over 4 oz. Most of the weight was found in the coil assembly. SEMINARS ON THE ELECTROMAGNETIC TATTOO MACHINE. REQUIREMENTS: - MINIMUM 15 PEOPLE PER SEMINAR, PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS ONLY - ARTISTS WHO WORK IN STUDIOS. The Godoy Machines tattoo machine seminar provides a complete dissection of the electromagnetic tattoo machine. Detailed descriptions of the scope of the electromagnetic tattoo machine. Including material, properties and function, manufacturing, assembly, insulation, magnetic field, capacitors, capacitance, polarity, wire - gauges, layers turns...everything a professional tattoo artist needs to know - including the tattoo machine's function as applied to technique. This is a 6 - 9 hour class, depending on the number of participants. Sometimes the class can be divided over 2 days. This is the most thorough and complete seminar offered anywhere. We charge 300 dollars or Euros per person. This covers our cost to travel and accommodation - wether we travel to Europe or any other continent. This 300 dollar (or Euro) cost pays for material and tools which the class will use to repair their machines - taps, dyes, hole punches, Dremmel, files, heat shrink, capacitor(s), screws, binding posts, contact screws etc. This price also pays the shipping costs to send the tools and materials. The 300 dollar (or Euro) charge also absorbs the cost of paying the organizer a percentage to help with the expense of the rented hall. We cannot offer "FREE" seminars due to these costs. FREE seminars at any convention or events will not be considered.
